Postcards, glorified, and Ansel Adams

This past weekend, I visited a couple exhibits, the first being a modern postcard show. Lovely photographs, collages (fiber, paper, etc), oil paintings. A lot of creativity infused into 3 by 5 inch rectangles. Anything having to do with mail, addresses, lettering, or a stamp: I’m a fan. (Second photo down, collage created by Lisa Corson of Bristol, Connecticut.)

Along with an Ansel Adams Exhibit, which if you live in the Chicagoland area, I would highly encourage you to visit. His work, full of high contrast and gorgeous gradations in tone. Wonder and beauty. Really, stunning.
